Lead Engineer - Cryostat / Thermal Shield / Assembly at Commonwealth Fusion Systems

Ted Wyeth is a highly experienced engineer with a robust background in mechanical and structural design. Currently serving as the Lead Engineer for Cryostat, Thermal Shield, and Assembly at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since January 2021, Ted is instrumental in the design and analysis of structural and thermal systems for the SPARC tokamak fusion energy system. Previous roles include Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Firefly Aerospace, where Ted focused on tooling for Alpha Vehicle production, and at MTPV Power Corporation, where Ted led the architecture and design of thermophotovoltaic systems. Additional experience includes notable positions at SpaceX as Senior Test Development Engineer and a range of internships and consulting roles, complementing a strong academic foundation with a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture from the University of Virginia.
