Trent Bauserman

Head of Federal Affairs at Commonwealth Fusion Systems

Trent Bauserman is currently the Head of Federal Affairs at Commonwealth Fusion Systems. Prior to that, they were the Special Assistant to the President and House Legislative Affairs Liaison at The White House from January 2016 to January 2017. In that role, Trent advised the President and senior White House and Administration officials on energy, environmental, telecom, and LGBT matters coming before the U.S. House of Representatives. Trent also represented the President in discussions with 50+ bipartisan Members of Congress and their staff, leadership, the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and the Committee on Natural Resources on Obama Administration policies and priorities. Trent worked with senior White House and Administration staff to shape and provide strategic direction to advance legislative priorities on Capitol Hill. Some key legislation they worked on includes the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act (PROMESA), the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act), and the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2016.

Before their time at The White House, Trent served as the Associate Director for Legislative Affairs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality from January 2012 to January 2016.

Trent Bauserman's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Tech.
