Alayna Van Tassel

Alayna Van Tassel has a diverse range of work experience, spanning from 2001 to present. Alayna'smost recent position is with the Office of the Massachusetts State Treasurer and Receiver General, where they serve as the Deputy Treasurer and Executive Director of the Office of Economic Empowerment since January 2015. Prior to this role, they worked as the Chief of Staff for the House Committee on Post-Audit and Oversight from September 2010 to January 2015. Alayna also has experience in policy and budget roles, having worked as the Budget and Policy Director for the Office of Senator Pat Jehlen from October 2008 to September 2010, and as the Budget and Policy Advisor for the Office of Senator Jim Marzilli from February 2008 to October 2008. Alayna has also held positions in government relations, serving as the Development Coordinator/Government Relations Coordinator for Georgetown University Hospital from July 2006 to June 2007, and as the Government Relations Fellow for Population Connection from January 2006 to June 2006. Additionally, Alayna has experience in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where they worked as a Legislative Aide from May 2001 to January 2005.

Alayna Van Tassel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Government from Suffolk University between 1997 and 2001. Later, in 2005 to 2006, they pursued a Master of Arts in Public Policy with a concentration in Women's Studies from The George Washington University.
