Joseph Gavazzi

Joseph Gavazzi serves as Litigation Counsel for the Governor's Office of General Counsel within the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections since August 2014, specializing in employment litigation matters. Prior to this role, Gavazzi worked at the Department of General Services, focusing on public works construction, procurement disputes, and labor-related issues, while also advising on personnel matters. From August 2008 to January 2013, Gavazzi was an Assistant Counsel at the Dauphin County Public Defender's Office, representing criminally accused indigent and juvenile clients and managing the State Parole Division. Gavazzi holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Widener University Commonwealth Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Penn State University.
