Daminda Kumara

Daminda Kumara has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Daminda is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation and as a Visiting Associate Professor at Macquarie University. Daminda is also a Non-Executive Director at CREST Australia New Zealand Ltd. In addition, they hold positions as an Advisory Board Member at meetmagic.org and as a Board Member at Safeculcha.

Prior to these roles, Daminda Kumara held the position of Head of Cyber Security and Risk at Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety and Blackwoods. Daminda also worked at Boral as the Head of Cyber Security and Operational Security and Risk Lead, where they managed information and cyber security operations and led business continuity, test, and change management. Daminda began their career at Boral as a Shared Business Services Analyst and later served as a Quality and Risk Manager and Change and Configuration Manager.

Additionally, Daminda Kumara has served as the Co-Director at spring developers pty ltd and has worked in Incident Management at Fujitsu Australia.

Daminda Kumara began their education at Ananda College, where they pursued a GCE advanced level degree in science. This academic endeavor lasted from 1986 to 1993. Following this, Daminda went on to pursue a BSC degree in Business IT at London Metropolitan University from 2000 to 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Daminda Kumara has also obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. Daminda obtained the Project Management Practice Cert iv from the National Qualifications Authority in June 2015. In November 2014, they obtained a certification in ISO 27001 - Security management from IT Security Training Australia. Similarly, they acquired expertise in Kepnor Tregoe Resolve through an institution named Kepner-Tregoe in June 2014. Lastly, in September 2012, Daminda obtained the ITIL Practitioner certification from Apm - Association Progrès du Management.
