Ben Rimmer

Ben Rimmer is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and management across various sectors, including housing, education, and public policy. Currently serving as the Director General of Housing at the Commonwealth Treasury since September 2025, Rimmer has previously held significant roles such as Deputy Secretary of Higher Education, Research and International at the Australian Government Department of Education, and Chief Executive Officer at Homes Victoria. In addition, Rimmer has contributed to the Australian Youth Orchestra as both Chair and Director and has served in multiple senior positions within government, including Associate Secretary and Deputy Secretary in various departments. Rimmer holds an MBA with distinction from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Melbourne, and has participated in executive education programs at prestigious institutions like Harvard Kennedy School and MIT Sloan School of Management.
