Matthew Harris

Matthew Harris is an experienced analyst and economist with a solid background in public finance and regulatory frameworks. Currently serving as an Analyst at the Commonwealth Treasury since March 2022, Matthew previously held the position of Senior Economist at the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission from October 2020 to March 2022, as well as the role of Economist at the same organization from October 2019 to October 2020. Earlier career experience includes working as an A/Senior Investments Officer at the NT Department of Treasury and Finance and completing a rotation program that encompassed utilities commission, intergovernmental relations, utilities reform, and budget development. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Economics in Finance and Trade from the University of South Australia and participated in the International Asian Studies Program at CUHK Business School.
