LaKendra Phifer, MPH, currently serves as the West Charlotte TRIO Program Director at Communities In Schools of Charlotte Mecklenburg, Inc., responsible for counseling high school students and managing a team to facilitate college access and career development. Previously, LaKendra worked as the Consulting Director for Cupcake Coop and Co. LLC, where revenue forecasting and asset protection strategies were primary focuses. LaKendra's earlier experience includes teaching Biology for grades 9-12 at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and coordinating events for EmpowHERment, Inc. LaKendra's professional journey began with an epidemiology internship at Carolinas Healthcare System, conducting a decade-long analysis of self-harm data. Education credentials include a Master's degree in Public Health from Georgia Southern University, a Post Baccalaureate in Community Health Promotions from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Carolina Central University.
