April Benavidez serves as the Co-Regional Director for Northwest Plains Destination Imagination since August 2019 and is a Family Support Specialist at Communities in Schools of The South Plains since July 2018. Prior roles include Care Specialist in a private home from August 2017 to August 2019, Assistant PE Coach at Lubbock ISD from May 2014 to August 2019, and Area Director for Special Olympics Texas, Area 17 from 2012 to 2014. April Benavidez also has experience in special education in various capacities within Lubbock ISD from September 2007 to October 2012. April Benavidez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University between 2015 and 2018.
