Danny M. Hoey

Danny M. Hoey, Jr., Ph.D., currently serves as the Associate Provost for Academic and Student Success at the Community College of Philadelphia since May 2025. Previously, Danny held the position of Provost at Valencia College from May 2022 to May 2025 and served as Dean of Student Learning, Equity and Success for Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences at Gavilan Community College from July 2021 to April 2022. Other notable roles include Assistant Dean of English, Literacy & Communications at Anne Arundel Community College and Associate Professor and Department Chair of English, Communications, & Modern Languages at Indian River State College. Danny's educational background includes a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from the University of North Texas, a Master's degree in Creative Writing from LIU Brooklyn, a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from The Ohio State University, and a Master's degree in African-American/Black Studies from the University at Albany.
