Sarah Nelson has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Sarah is currently the Chief Executive Officer at CommUnity Crisis Services since May 2021. Before that, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Foundation 2 Crisis Services from November 2016 to May 2021. Sarah has also worked as a Court Services Program Administrator at Boulder County Community Justice Services from December 2014 to March 2016. Earlier in their career, they held various positions such as Director of Programs at Sister Carmen Community Center from April 2008 to December 2014, Business Owner - Artist at The Rhythm of Color, LLC from 2003 to 2008, School Liaison Therapist - Term at Community Mental Health Center for Mid-Eastern Iowa from August 2006 to May 2007, and Lifeskills Worker at Boulder County from October 2001 to June 2003. Additionally, they worked as a Program Coordinator at Carmel Community Living from October 2000 to October 2001, and as a Child Care Resource & Referral Program Coordinator at The Women's Center of Larimer County from February 1999 to October 2000.
Sarah Nelson attended Colorado State University from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies.

When any situation has become too difficult for you to cope with alone, we can help. Everyone at CommUnity Crisis Services is passionate about treating those in crisis as valuable human beings. CommUnity provides immediate support through our Crisis Intervention, Food Bank & Emergency Assistance, and Community Intervention Programs. These services include a 24-hour crisis line, crisis chat and text, mobile crisis outreach, a food bank, several mobile pantry sites, emergency assistance, and training.
