Mercedes Ruiz has extensive experience in community outreach and health care support, currently serving as a Community Health Care Advisor at Denver Health since 2015, where daily outreach visits to underrepresented families facilitate health care enrollment and eligibility assessment for various programs. Concurrently, since 2014, Mercedes has worked as a School Readiness Coordinator with The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County, focusing on educating minority families about Early Childhood Education and connecting them to essential resources. Previous roles include Program Coordinator at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2007 to 2011, where Mercedes coordinated internships for high school students in the "I Have A Dream" program, and a Licensed Insurance Agent at American Family Insurance from 2002 to 2005. Mercedes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder.
