Bilan Joseph

Director, Thrive by Five at Community Foundation Tampa Bay

Bilan Joseph is the current director of Thrive by Five at Community Foundation Tampa Bay. Bilan has also served as the director of Thrive by Five at the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County. In this role, Bilan was responsible for developing and executing the overall strategic and operational responsibility of the organization, ensuring ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems. Bilan also served as a liaison between internal departments and community members, building and sustaining partnerships to implement various programs and services to assist in increasing public engagement.

Bilan Joseph holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Capella University in the field of Reading and Literacy. Bilan also has a Master's degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Jones International University. Bilan's undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Georgia State University. Bilan is certified by the Florida Department of Education in ESOL Endorsement, Reading Endorsement, and Professional Educator English 6-12. Bilan is also certified by Pinellas County Schools as an Equity Champion. Finally, they have a Grant Writing Certification from the Nonprofit Leadership Center.

Bilan Joseph reports to Marlene Spalten, President & CEO. They work with Sheila Kinman - SVP, Philanthropy, Katie Shultz - Senior Director, Community Investments, and Jessica Scites - Director, Nonprofit Relations.
