Laura Washington currently serves as President & CEO of Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley since February 2024. Previously, Laura held the role of Chief Communications Officer and Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at the New-York Historical Society from October 2021 to January 2024, and as Director of Communications at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation from April 2015 to May 2021. Laura played a pivotal role in establishing the first communications department at the Mellon Foundation and significantly enhanced the organization’s visibility and engagement. Earlier experience includes key positions at the New-York Historical Society, Consumers Union/Consumer Reports, and Money Magazine, where Laura cultivated extensive expertise in communications, fundraising, and media. Laura earned a Master's Degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and holds a BA in History from Vassar College.
