Lawrence Magras

Lawrence Magras is the SVP, Population Health & Chief Medical Officer at COMMUNITY HEALTH NETWORK OF CONNECTICUT INC. Lawrence previously worked as a Senior Director, Heathcare at Huron Consulting Group from April 2014 to July 2016. In their role at Huron, they worked as a physician consultant focusing on business performance improvement methodology with a focus on clinical optimization. This included Correct patient status from point of entry, minimizing risk of retrospective denials, patient placement at the correct level of care for the patient's needs, facilitating throughput metrics, proactive case management, and interdisciplinary care coordination to facilitate care progress, and clinical variation management through use of order sets and pathways, decreasing length of stay and cost per case, while increasing patient satisfaction and quality outcomes. Lawrence also focused on cross continuum care, with cross continuum care plans, care access, and a cross continuum physician governance model moving to clinical integration, to position organizations to perform well in an era of healthcare transformation and payment reform.

Lawrence Magras graduated with a BS in Biology from Georgetown University. Lawrence then attended Georgetown University School of Medicine and received their MD. After completing their medical degree, they pursued an MBA in Healthcare from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst - Isenberg School of Management. Lawrence is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in American Board of Internal Medicine.
