Katherine Taveras, LCSW, SIFI, currently serves as the Associate Director of Behavioral Health - Education, Training & Environment of Care at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, a position held since May 2016, where responsibilities include supervising staff and leading educational initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prior to this role, Katherine worked as a Behavioral Health Clinician at Community Health Center from September 2011 to March 2016, providing individual and family therapy and facilitating a notable post-traumatic group. Earlier experience includes positions as a Psychiatric Social Worker and Medical Social Worker at Saint Joseph's Medical Center/St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester Division, where Katherine specialized in screening, short-term therapy, and developing post-discharge plans. Katherine holds a Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare, as well as additional studies at The Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies and a Bachelor of Arts from the University at Buffalo.
