Sara Lurie has extensive work experience in various roles related to mental health services. Sara served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties since 2015. Prior to that, they worked at the Eaton Regional Education Service Agency as the Prevention Services Supervisor from 2002 to 2015. In this role, they managed a prevention department and was responsible for budgeting, grant writing, and overseeing contracted services. Before that, they held multiple positions, including Program Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and Counselor, at the Concern/Helpnet Employee Assistance Program from 1992 to 2002. In these roles, they managed the operations of an employee assistance program and provided consultation and interventions for troubled work groups.
Sara Lurie obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Counselor Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they completed from 1984 to 1986. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Resource Management from the same university, which they completed from 1978 to 1982. In addition to their degrees, Sara has obtained several certifications. Sara became a Licensed Masters Social Worker in the State of Michigan in April 2015. Furthermore, they obtained certifications as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Certified Prevention Consultant from the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals in December 2014.
