Michael McCarroll

Michael McCarroll is an experienced technology and media professional with a robust background in online strategy, new media, and IT. As Director of Technology - Online Strategy at Community Newspapers, Inc. since July 2002 and Senior Managing Director at Newport Group since January 2014, McCarroll has been instrumental in bridging traditional and new media through innovative technological approaches. Previous roles include co-founding Atech at the University of Georgia's Synergy Center and serving on the Technology Committee Board for the Georgia Press Association. McCarroll also contributed to education as an Alumni Advisory Board Member for the University of Georgia's Grady School of Journalism from 2011 to 2014. McCarroll holds a degree in Mass Media and New Media from the University of Georgia.
