Steven L Salisbury has extensive work experience in the medical field. Steven S began their career as a Department Head of Internal Medicine at Logan Regional Hospital in 1984. From 1986 to 1989, they served as a Staff Hospital Internal Medicine Physician at Yokota Air Base in Japan, where they adopted two daughters and developed a patient base of Japanese speakers. In 1989, Salisbury became a Physician and Owner of an Internal Medicine Office specializing in the care of chronic illnesses and managing 600 diabetic patients. Steven S worked with a Physician's Assistant in this role. In 1999, they joined the Medical Executive Board and served as the Medical Staff President at Logan Regional Hospital. Since 2004, Salisbury has been the Medical Director of Hospice at Community Nursing Services.

Steven L Salisbury pursued their high school education at Sky View High School from 1970 to 1973, where they obtained a high school diploma. Steven S then attended Utah State University from 1973 to 1979, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Chemistry. Afterward, they enrolled at the University of Utah School of Medicine, completing their studies from 1979 to 1983 and obtaining a medical degree (MD) with a specialization in Internal Medicine.
