Jean Terranova has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. They began their career in 1992 by founding and managing their own law office, where they specialized in various areas of law, including criminal and death penalty litigation. They also gained experience in appellate and post-conviction proceedings, presenting oral arguments before several courts. In 2012, Jean joined Community Servings, initially as the Director of Food and Health Policy and later as the Senior Director of Policy and Research. They were responsible for policy development and research in areas related to food and health. In 2014, Jean also worked as a Research Fellow and Advisory Board member at The Fisheries Law Centre, where they contributed to legal research projects aimed at promoting access to local fish, ensuring integrity in fish marketing and labeling, and protecting public health through fish feed regulations.
Jean Terranova's education history begins in 1983 when they enrolled at the University of Vermont. Jean pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on French and Political Science, completing their studies in 1987. Following this, Jean attended Suffolk University Law School from 1989 to 1992 and obtained their J.D. degree in Law. In 2002, they attended the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts for a year and obtained a Professional Chef's Degree in Culinary Arts. Jean's education journey also includes certifications in Nutrition for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from Coursera Verified Certificates in August 2013 and An Introduction to the U.S. Food System: Perspectives from Public Health from Coursera in March 2013. Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses, like HIV/AIDS, Cancer, MS, Lou Gehrig’s disease and more than 30 others. We provide our clients, and their dependent families and caregivers with nutritious, made-from-scratch meals and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through free, culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.
