Janice Nam is a dedicated researcher at Loyola Medicine, focusing on the trends in endovascular versus surgical revascularization for peripheral arterial disease and its effects on racial disparities in critical limb ischemia. Additionally, Janice serves as the Recruitment Chair for the American Medical Association, aiming to enhance medical student involvement and awareness at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. Janice also works as a phlebotomist at CommunityHealth, demonstrating expertise in patient sample collection. Previous experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington, where research concentrated on Type 1 Diabetes and myocardial infarction, and holding leadership roles within the Global Medical Missions Alliance, where Janice contributed to mentorship and coordination of medical missions. Janice holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of Washington.

Founded in 1993, CommunityHealth is dedicated to serving the uninsured and underserved in Chicago and surrounding communities. We provide over 17,000 medical and dental visits for more than 10,000 patients every year. This level of care is made possible thanks to the time and talent of more than 1,000 volunteers, including 350+ providers (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, counselors, etc.). CommunityHealth’s main facility, the Lederman Family Health Center, is located in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. In 2010, we opened a satellite in Chicago’s south side Englewood neighborhood — a community with great need and limited resources. As the largest volunteer-based free medical facility in the United States, we offer demonstrated success and an innovative model for providing compassionate and comprehensive medical and dental care to the uninsured.
