Mayor Hal McCabe

Mayor Hal McCabe has been serving as the Mayor of the Village of Homer, NY since March 2017, where responsibilities include developing and overseeing a budget exceeding $4 million for a community of 3,400 residents and managing a staff of 52 across various departments. In addition to this role, Mayor McCabe is a member of the Board of Directors for Comp Alliance and has been involved with the Cortland County Democratic Committee as a member of the Executive Committee since June 2017. Mayor McCabe founded Progressive Minds, Inc., a campaign management consulting firm, and has held various leadership positions including Director at RenUSA and Interim Executive Director of the Cannabis Association of New York. Previous experience includes being Director of Government Relations for the New York State Senate and serving on the Board of Directors for the Cortland County Farm Bureau and Homer Farmers' Market. Mayor McCabe holds a Bachelor of Science in TV-Radio Communications from Ithaca College and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Cornell University, along with additional studies in political science and campaign management.
