Carole Montillet holds a baccalaureate and holds a State Alpine Skiing Certificate from the Chambéry Business School group. She was a professional skier until 2006, when she put an end to her professional skier career and participated as a racer in the Gazelles rally in 2006 and also in the Dakar rally in 2007. She was elected mayor of Corrençon- en-Vercors in 2008.
