Kirill Dmitriev is in charge of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), one of the world’s leading sovereign funds with reserved capital of $10 billion under management. RDIF was established in 2011 on the initiative of the President and the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In all transactions, RDIF is a coinvestor alongside major international investors, acting as a catalyst for direct investment in Russia. RDIF has successful experience of cooperating with foreign partners in more than 80 projects totaling over 1.7 trillion rubles across 95% of Russian regions. RDIF has established joint strategic partnerships with leading international coinvestors from more than 15 countries, totaling over $40 billion.

Before joining RDIF as its CEO in 2011, Kirill Dmitriev headed several large private equity funds and completed a series of landmark transactions in Russia, such as the sale of Delta Bank to General Electric, Delta Credit Bank to Société Générale, and CTC Media to Fidelity Investments. He started his career at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company.

Kirill Dmitriev was appointed by the Russian President as a member of the BRICS and APEC Business Councils; he serves on the Supervisory Board of ALROSA and the Boards of Directors of Transneft, Rostelecom, Gazprombank, MD Medical Group, Russian Railways, and ROSSETI, and the Boards of Trustees of the Mariinsky Theatre and Lomonosov Moscow State University. He is the Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

In 2011, Kirill Dmitriev was the only Russian representative on the list of the 100 most influential private equity professionals of the decade (Private Equity International); he was selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader. He holds a BA in Economics with honors and distinction from Stanford University and an MBA with high distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School.

The President of the Russian Federation awarded Kirill Dmitriev the Order of Alexander Nevsky and the Order of Honor for a valuable contribution to international investment projects and Russia’s socioeconomic development.

The President of the French Republic awarded Kirill Dmitriev membership in the Legion of Honor for an outstanding contribution to strengthening relations between Russia and France.

Kirill Dmitriev received from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the highest award of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Order of King Abdulaziz (2nd Class), in recognition of an outstanding contribution to strengthening relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

The President of the Italian Republic conferred on Kirill Dmitriev the title of Commander of the Order of the Star of Italy for a meritorious contribution to promoting friendly relations and cooperation between Italy and Russia.
