Amanda Xie has had a varied and extensive work experience. Amanda began their career in 2012, working as a Customer Service Representative for Singapore Airlines. That same year, they also took on an internship with W Hotels, where they were responsible for assigning schedules for housekeepers, handling due-outs, guest room inspections, opening and closing shifts, credit card validations, effective communication with staffs to serve the needs of housekeepers and guests, planning quarterly budgets, and keeping a positive relationship with department staffs. In 2013, they worked as a Parent and Youth Counselor for the Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYCSF) and as a Community Outreach and Event Specialist for the American Red Cross, where they were responsible for recruiting and managing youth and adult volunteers, promoting disaster preparedness in the community by providing free on-site classes and trainings, hosting community events, participating in street fairs and festivals, and teaching hands-only CPR. Amanda was also a certified CPR instructor. Amanda also worked as a Guest Services at Parc 55 San Francisco - A Hilton Hotel and as a Coordinator, Sales & Marketing for Hilton Worldwide. Most recently, they have been working as an Event Marketing Coordinator for CompareNetworks, Inc. since 2017.

Amanda Xie attended San Francisco State University from 2009 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in hospitality and tourism management.
