Jessica O'Dea has a diverse work experience in the behavioral health field. Jessica began their career in 2006 as the Youth & Young Adult Program Manager at Meridian Community Care, where they worked until 2007. From 2007 to 2017, they served as a part-time instructor in the Counseling Department at Youngstown State University. In 2017, Jessica joined On Demand Counseling & New Day Recovery as the Clinical Director, a role they held until 2021. Currently, they are working as the Assistant Outpatient Behavioral Health Director at Compass Family and Community Services.

Jessica O'Dea obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kent State University, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Following that, they pursued their Master of Science in Education with a focus on Community & School Counseling at Youngstown State University, where they attended from 2003 to 2006.
