Emilio Arbe

Emilio provides patient-centred, evidence-based medical oversight and advises on clinical development strategy throughout the drug development process.

Emilio qualified as a medical doctor in Santander, Spain, before specialising in Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford, UK, where he trained in psychotherapy, eating disorders, ADHD, child and adolescent psychiatry. He has a special interest in autistic spectrum disorders, addictions, and depression.

With more than 25 years’ experience in clinical development and medical affairs, his pharmaceutical career began in Germany, where he researched the abuse potential of opioids, before moving to France to develop a treatment for alcohol addiction. Since settling in the UK, he has worked as a psychiatrist and pharmaceutical physician across a number of therapeutic areas, including HIV/AIDS, Parkinson’s disease, and major depressive disorders.
