David Schlenker

David Schlenker is an experienced education leader with a strong background in talent development and instructional leadership. Currently serving as the Director of Talent at Compass Rose Public Schools since May 2022, David previously held the position of Director of Learning and Development at City Year San Antonio, where responsibilities included orchestrating training and curriculum for AmeriCorps members across multiple schools. As a Leadership Fellow at KIPP Texas Public Schools, David contributed to a high retention rate among new teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier roles at KIPP NYC involved leading student organizations and teaching World History with outstanding student performance. David's career began as a Fulbright ETA Scholar with the U.S. Department of State, teaching English in Turkey, and has been complemented by a Master's degree from The City College of New York and a Bachelor's degree from Skidmore College, along with studies at Boğaziçi University.
