Edward Chu, MD, is Director of the NCI-Designated Albert Einstein Cancer Center where he is also Professor of Medicine and Molecular Pharmacology and the Carol and Roger Einiger Professor of Cancer Medicine. He is also Vice President of Cancer Medicine at Montefiore Medicine.
Dr. Chu specializes in the treatment of colorectal and gastrointestinal cancers. His clinical and translation research efforts have focused on identifying novel drugs and treatment regiments for colorectal and other GI cancers. He is a National Institutes of Health-funded Investigator, with a long history of laboratory studies focused on characterizing novel mechanisms of cellular drug resistance and developing and leading early phase clinical trials with a particular focus on colorectal cancer and other GI cancers. With his expertise in cancer pharmacology and drug development, he has been active in designing and developing novel agents and treatment approaches.
Dr. Chu received his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine and completed a residency at Roger Williams General Hospital, Brown University, and a fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland.
