James Ballew

James Ballew is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in software engineering and cloud solutions. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Engineering at Compass since March 2021, James has previously held significant roles at Amazon Web Services as a Sr. Engineering Manager, and at CGI as a Director, Federal Civilian Cloud Solutions Architect. With foundational roles in various organizations including General Dynamics Information Technology, Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, James has developed a robust expertise in systems engineering and architecture. Academically, James holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
