Len Hummel is the current Director at Compassion Canada. Prior to their current position, Len was the Director of Global Risk Management - Corporate Credit at Scotiabank from December 2006 to July 2019. In this role, Len was responsible for making decisions or recommendations regarding Scotiabank's corporate loan portfolio of 200+ accounts, totaling over USD 10 billion, while maintaining sound credit quality and appropriate profitability. Len's focus industries included transportation (highways, airports, aerospace, shipping), and forestry. Len also ensured transactions were in compliance with the requirements of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, internal auditors and external auditors.

Len is an effective leader and demonstrated this by leading a team of experienced staff to effectively manage credit risk for the loan portfolio. Len is an excellent communicator, both verbally and written, as well as an effective negotiator and coach. Additionally, they have excellent analytical and time management skills. Len is able to thoroughly analyze complex transactions, which frequently included derivatives. Throughout their time at Scotiabank, Len maintained a track record of minimal loan losses.

Len Hummel has a Certified Genernal Accountant (CGA) designation from CPA Ontario and an MBA in Finance from the University of Toronto.
