McOm Karabo Motaung (M.Inst.D)

Principal Analyst: Advocacy & Stakeholder Relations at The Competition Commission South Africa

Karabo Motaung holds a Master of Commerce degree in Competition and Economic Regulation from the University of Johannesburg and a Postgraduate Certificate in Competition Law from the University of the Witwatersrand. Currently serving as a Non-Executive Director at SABC since April 2023, Karabo also works as a Principal Analyst for Advocacy & Stakeholder Relations at The Competition Commission South Africa, a position held since July 2019, following a progression from various analyst roles within the same organization starting in 2013. Previous experience includes working as an Operational Risk Analyst at Rand Merchant Bank from January 2011 to September 2013. Additional educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics and Financial Management along with a Bachelor of Commerce from Rhodes University, and advanced executive education at Duke Corporate Education and Wits Business School in 2023.
