Neil VillacortaBuer has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Neil began their career at Monster Inc. as a Database Developer and Tradeshow Representative from 1985 to 1988. Neil then worked as a Campus Representative at Apple from 1987 to 1990. Following this, they joined UCSB Facilities and Planning as a Network Manager, Technology Analyst & Database Developer from 1990 to 1995. Neil subsequently worked as an IT Director at MetaCreations (formerly MetaTools and Fractal Design Software) from 1996 to 1999. Neil then joined the County of Santa Barbara as a Network and Security Consultant from 1999 to 2003.

In 2000, Neil joined Fidelity National Financial as a VP-Corporate IT Governance, where they served until 2006. Neil then took on the role of IT Director at SuperStock from 2007 to 2010, managing IT services for stock photography, video, and music.
