Niba Audrey Nirmal

Niba Audrey Nirmal is a communications professional with extensive experience in multimedia science communication and social media content creation. Currently serving as a Communications Coordinator for The Leakey Foundation since April 2023, Niba also works with the Feminist Book Club as a TikTok Producer and Podcast Host, and produces content for SciShow as a TikTok Host and Writer. Niba's diverse background includes roles at PBS, Berkeley Lab, NOVA | PBS, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the Ecological Society of America, where skills in video production, storytelling, and digital strategy have been leveraged. Niba holds a Master of Science in Genetics from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics with minors in Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies and Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Davis. Niba's initiatives focus on promoting inclusion and fostering engagement in science and social justice.
