Marek Modrý

Marek Modrý has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and engineering. Marek is currently employed as an Engineering Manager at ComplyAdvantage, starting in October 2022. Previously, Marek co-founded Machine Learning Meetups (MLMU) in 2014, which has grown to include communities in multiple cities. Marek also worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Deep Discovery from July 2021 to July 2022. Prior to that, Marek held various roles at Merlon, including Engineering Manager and Machine Learning Engineer, where they developed AI-centered KYC/AML products. Marek also worked on Merlon.ai as a Machine Learning Engineer at CEAI, Inc. In addition, Marek has experience as a Research Team Lead and Research Engineer at Seznam.cz, where they focused on machine learning solutions. Earlier in their career, they served as a Graduate Research Fellow at the Department of Control Engineering, FEE, Czech Technical University, conducting research on optimization in scheduling and planning.

Marek Modrý obtained a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and Management - Intelligent systems from Czech Technical University in Prague from 2008 to 2011. Marek then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Corporate Finance and Management at Prague University of Economics and Business, completing it from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, Marek earned a Master's degree in Open Informatics - Artificial Intelligence from Czech Technical University in Prague, studying between 2011 and 2014. In 2011, they also briefly attended Linköping University, although the degree obtained and field of study during that time are unknown.
