Chris Cleveland's work experience began in 2009 as a Legislation and Public Policy Intern at the Human Relations Commission in Los Angeles County. In this role, they tracked and researched bills and drafted reports recommending legislation. Chris also assisted with projects and prepared presentations.
In 2010, Chris worked as a Business Development and Policy Research Intern at DL Energy, where they researched and analyzed solar energy policies and implemented new business strategies.
From 2010 to 2012, Chris served as a Hate Crime Analyst at Los Angeles County, where they interpreted hate crime reports, researched case law and California Penal Code, and edited and reviewed reports from other analysts.
In 2012, Chris joined Galpin Motors as a Compliance Coordinator and later became a Compliance Administrator. Chris managed a compliance team and conducted audits in various areas, such as sales, finance, privacy, and information security. Chris also designed and oversaw risk assessments and ensured compliance with state and federal regulations.
Most recently, in 2020, Chris co-founded ComplyAuto and is currently serving as the CEO. ComplyAuto is a privacy and cybersecurity compliance platform for dealers, representing over 8,000 dealers nationwide.
Chris Cleveland received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science - International Relations from UCLA in 2011. Chris then went on to pursue a Juris Doctor degree in Law at the University of West Los Angeles, completing it in 2019. Prior to that, in 2008, they attended Middlebury College's Foreign Language School, although it is not specified if they obtained a degree from there.
