Amaël Cohades

CEO, Co-Founder & Board Member at CompPair

Amaël Cohades is the CEO and Co-Founder of CompPair, a company that creates software to help people with chronic pain. Prior to their current position, Amaël worked as a postdoctoral research scientist at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne from February 2018 to August 2020. Amaël's research focused on functional composites with damage control and repair. Amaël also worked as a doctoral assistant at the same school from January 2014 to January 2018, during which time they completed their PhD titled "Functional composites with damage control and repair." From December 2012 to December 2013, Amaël worked as a scientific assistant at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, where they researched laminated metal composites. Amaël also completed two semester projects at the school, one on polyester over-injection in a closed mould and one on the study of belite hydration and its interaction with other cement phases. Lastly, Amaël worked as a student assistant at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne from February 2010 to January 2012. Amaël also attended The University of Auckland from January 2012 to December 2012.

Amaël Cohades has a Bachelor and Master Degree in Materials Science from the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. For their Master Thesis, they researched Composite Materials at the University of Auckland. Amaël also has a Minor in Management, Technology and Entrepreneurship from the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. Currently, they are a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in Science des matériaux at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. In addition, they have completed the Venturelab Business Growth Advanced Engineering program as well as the Venturelab Business Creation Advanced Engineering program. Lastly, they have a certification from Innosuisse - Agence suisse pour l’encouragement de l'innovation in InnoSuisse Business Concept Course.
