John Evans

John Evans has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. John began their career as an Executive Officer and Marine Officer Instructor at the State University of New York Maritime College before joining the United States Marine Corps. In the Marines, they held various leadership positions, including Battalion Commander and Executive Officer, where they demonstrated strong leadership and risk management skills. John also served as the Operations Officer for the Iraqi Security Forces Directorate and the Logistics Director for Special Operations Command Africa, where they managed infrastructure projects and facilitated military operations. After retiring from the Marines, they worked as the Chief of Staff and Principal Advisor to the Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources before taking on the role of Vice President at Dataminr, where they led the Marine Corps Customer Success Team. Currently, they are serving as the Director of Operations at CompQsoft Inc, where they oversee IT and ERP services for government, start-up, and middle-market commercial clients. Throughout their career, John Evans has demonstrated a strong ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive growth and efficiency in various organizations.

John Evans completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University from 1987 to 1991. In 1996 to 1997, they pursued a Masters of Public Administration degree with a specialization in Public Administration from Troy University. From 2011 to 2012, they obtained a Master's degree in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University's National War College. Currently, John is participating in a program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology called Seminar XXI, where they are a Fellow studying National Security Policy Studies, which began at an unspecified time and is expected to end in 2020. John also holds additional certifications including Certified CMMI Associate from ISACA obtained in June 2023 and ITIL Foundation Level from AXELOS Global Best Practice obtained in June 2023.
