Michelle Burton Cmp

Michelle Burton, CMP has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Michelle is currently the Director of Program Operations at the Computer Science Teachers Association, where they oversee the organization's program operations. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Operations Manager and Event Manager at the same company.

Before joining the Computer Science Teachers Association, Michelle worked at ASUG - Americas' SAP Users' Group as the ASUG University Manager, Senior Communities Coordinator, and Communities Coordinator. Michelle played a key role in managing university programs and coordinating communities.

Michelle's career also includes experience at the University of Chicago, where they worked as a Senior Event Coordinator for International House. Michelle was responsible for organizing cultural and intellectual programs and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

In addition, Michelle has held positions at Drake University as the Greek Life Student Coordinator and at Camp Tecumseh YMCA as a Pathfinder Unit Coordinator and Resident Counselor. Michelle has also worked as a Behavioral Therapist for a private employer and as a Programs Intern for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa.

Michelle's work experience demonstrates their expertise in program management, event coordination, community engagement, and leadership development.

Michelle Burton, CMP, obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Drake University, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications in event management. Michelle became a Certified Meeting Professional through the Events Industry Council in May 2017. Michelle has also acquired certifications in Cvent Event Management, completing the advanced program in May 2020 and the standard program in April 2020. Michelle obtained their initial Cvent Event Management certification in June 2017.
