Uta Nickels has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Uta currently holds the position of Digital Marketing Manager at Computomics from February 2022. Prior to this, they worked at ap-systems GmbH, 1. Wenz-Mechanik GmbH, and 3D-Laserdruck in marketing roles from May 2021 to November 2021.

Prior to joining IBM, Uta started their professional journey as a Specialist for IBM Office Systems and RS/6000 (October 1987 to September 1989) and later as a Systems Engineer for RS/6000 and AIX (September 1989 to October 1991).
Uta Nickels obtained a Diploma in Business Management with a focus on Marketing and HR from Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) from 1984 to 1987. In 2020, they also completed a course titled "The Science of Well-Being" through Coursera, offered by Yale University. No degree was awarded for this course.
