Michael Hawrysko

Michael Hawrysko has a diverse work experience in the field of aviation and aerospace safety. In 1996, they worked at FAA Headquarters as the Air Traffic Control System Evaluations, Investigations, and Event Investigations Manager, where they led teams in conducting audits and assessments of air traffic services operational facilities. From 1999 to 2003, they held roles as the Air Traffic Service Operations/Support Manager at Dulles Air Traffic Control Tower and as the Air Traffic Service Operations Manager at Potomac Consolidated TRACON (PCT). In these positions, they managed daily air traffic operations and implemented programs to enhance safety and efficiency in the National Airspace System.

From 2003 to 2009, Hawrysko worked as the Assistant Air Traffic Manager at Southern California Consolidated TRACON. Michael collaborated with various stakeholders to improve facility operations and implemented action plans for calibration and improvement. Michael then returned to PCT as the ATC Safety Manager, Safety Programs, Quality Control, and Traffic Management Officer, where they oversaw national and regional safety programs and managed extensive airport construction projects.

In 2013, Hawrysko joined the FAA, ATO Safety and Technical Training division as the Air Traffic Services National Safety Manager in the Quality Assurance Group. Michael directed four Quality Assurance Offices and had accountability for budgets and major programs.

From 2015 to 2020, they worked concurrently at ATC Aerial Drone Photography, LLC as a Remote sUAS Operator and at Advanced Safety Solutions, LLC as an Independent Aerospace Safety Consultant and Commercial sUAS Operator. At ATC Aerial Drone Photography, they provided aerial drone photography services for various purposes, including real estate marketing and structural inspections. At Advanced Safety Solutions, they worked as a consultant in aerospace safety.

Most recently, Hawrysko worked at Tetra Tech as a Senior Systems Safety Engineer/Integrator/PMP supporting the FAA's NextGen Enterprise Safety Branch. Michael led diverse teams in applying expert knowledge to future air transportation concepts and conducted safety assessments of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) activities.

Presently, Hawrysko is working at Concept Solutions, LLC as the Program Manager (PM) for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration. In this role, they provide overall program management for the safe integration of emerging capabilities, including UAS, UAS Traffic Management, and Commercial Space Transportation.

Michael Hawrysko has a diverse education history. In 1981, they completed a Bachelor of Aeronautical Science/Professional Pilot degree from Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology at St. Louis University. Following this, they pursued further education in the field of aviation and obtained a Master's degree in Aeronautical Sciences from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 1989 and 1991.

In 1983, Michael attended the FAA ATC Academy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where they completed a program in Terminal ATC (Air Traffic Control). Michael'spassion for aviation also led him to obtain various certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), including FAA Commercial/Instrument/Multi-Engine Manned Aircraft Pilot, FAA Commercial Remote Pilot - Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS), FAA Air Traffic Control Tower Operator, and FAA Pilot Ground School Instructor.

In recent years, Michael has expanded their education to include fields beyond aviation. In 2013, they attended the Federal Executive Institute (FEI) and successfully completed a program on Organizational Leadership. Michael further enhanced their professional skills by obtaining Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification in 2018, and the Management and Strategy Institute's Project Management Essentials Certified (PME) Certification in 2017.

Additionally, they enrolled in Shipley Associates' Business Development (BD) Boot Camp and is expected to complete the program in April 2023, earning a Certificate of Completion.

Michael's dedication to education and professional development is evident in their pursuit of new certifications and degrees, allowing him to continuously expand their knowledge and expertise in various fields.
