After graduating from LA’s Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Communication Studies and Political Science, Meghan took a break from the sun and moved to Portland, Oregon. In her year of service with AmeriCorps, she volunteered with the nonprofit newspaper Street Roots.
As the Volunteer Manager and Vendor Coordinator for Street Roots, Meghan worked to provide income opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and poverty. The newspaper and related media served as catalysts for individual and social change, and the impactful year ultimately sent Meghan on the career path of social justice and humanitarian development. She made the cross-country move to work at Concern Worldwide US as Executive Assistant to CEO Colleen Kelly and also serves as the organization’s Board Liaison.
In these roles, Meghan strives to maximize Concern’s ability to end extreme poverty by acting as the primary administrative contact for internal and external constituents, facilitating quarterly board meetings, and overseeing executive information flow in a timely and accurate manner. Although she is relatively fresh to the scene, Meghan is thrilled to help Concern Worldwide US enable meaningful and sustainable change.
