James Wyatt

Chief Medical Officer, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital at Cone Health

James (Jay) Wyatt, MD, serves as chief medical officer at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Wyatt joined Cone Health in 2000 as the medical director of trauma services.

Wyatt earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Harvard University and his medical degree at Stanford Medical School where he was chief resident.

Wyatt holds a certification in surgery from the American Board of Specialties and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. He is a graduate of the Cone Health Physician Leadership Academy – a joint program with the Center for Creative Leadership. He is also a graduate of the Health Management Academy physician leadership program and a former president of the Cone Health Medical and Dental Staff.

Wyatt serves on the board of Save a Life North Carolina Inc. He is a member and former president of the North Carolina Committee on Trauma, serves on the advisory committee of the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services and on the board of Medical Explorers for High School.
