Susan Shumaker

Susan Fitzgibbon Shumaker has served as the president of Cone Health Foundation since 2009. Cone Health Foundation, a supporting organization to Cone Health, uses its grant-making and advocacy resources to support strategies that strengthen and expand access to health care for vulnerable populations in greater Greensboro.

Shumaker has been with Cone Health since 2001. Previously, she was president of Annie Penn Hospital and an executive vice president of Cone Health.

Shumaker earned master of health administration and bachelor of science in nursing degrees from Duke University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Shumaker serves on the boards of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and Action Greensboro. She also a member of the Well-Spring Life Plan Community Board. In 2015, Shumaker renewed her nursing commitment by completing an extensive nurse refresher course in order to volunteer with underserved populations.
