Laurie Sands

Laurie Sands is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Associate General Counsel at Con Edison since June 2022. With a longstanding role as Counsel at Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP since October 2011, Laurie specializes in litigating complex environmental and insurance actions while advising clients on regulatory matters and transactions involving contaminated properties in New Jersey. In addition, Laurie has a keen interest in admiralty and maritime environmental issues and has contributed written works regarding North American Emission Control Area and ballast water regulations. Previously, Laurie held leadership positions such as Co-Chair of the New Jersey Environmental Law Forum from June 2013 to June 2020 and Past Chair of the ABA TIPS Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee in 2013-2014. Education credentials include a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School and multiple degrees in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, complemented by a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Penn State University.
