Malika D.

Malika D. currently serves as the Director of STEM for K-5 at Coney Island Prep since October 2022, following a role as the Director of Lower School Mathematics for K-4 at Ascend Public Charter Schools from August 2021 to October 2022. Prior experiences include positions as a 4th Grade Master Teacher and Math Lead at The Equity Project Charter School and a DIR/Instructional Coach/Grade Team Lead at Achievement First. Malika D. also worked as an Instructional Fellow at Uncommon Schools and a Senior Associate Lead Teacher at Ember Charter Schools. Earlier in the career, Malika D. was a 3rd Grade Teacher at Achievement First and has contributed to the education field as a Stage 4 Distinguished Teacher and Leadership Fellow. Malika D. holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from Spelman College.
