Camille Olson is a partner with Seyfarth Shaw LLP, where she is National Chairperson of its Complex Discrimination Litigation Practice Group, and previously served as Chairperson of its Global Labor and Employment Department. Camille represents companies in all areas of counseling and litigation, with emphasis on employment discrimination and harassment, wage and hour, and independent contractor status issues. Her trial experience includes lead defense trial counsel in harassment, discrimination, independent contractor, and wage and hour cases. She also serves as independent counsel to Boards of Directors and Executive Team Members in connection with internal investigations and highly sensitive counseling matters. Since 2013, Camille has Chaired the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Equal Employment Opportunity Subcommittee. Camille has worked with state and federal legislatures to forge solutions with respect to employment discrimination, harassment, independent contractor status, and other areas. Camille regularly testifies on proposed EEO legislation. In March 2021 Camille testified before a joint hearing of the House Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Human Services and the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections concerning, “Fighting for Fairness: Examining Legislation to Confront Workplace Discrimination.” Camille is the recipient of numerous accolades for her trusted counseling practice and effective litigation style. She was named one of the National Law Journal’s Crisis Leadership Trailblazers of 2021 and Lawyer of the Year 2021 by Best Lawyers. Ms. Olson was part of the trial team in HP v. Oracle, which was awarded the “Innovation in Collaboration” honor by the Financial Times, with respect to what has been described as the largest non-class jury verdict in U.S. history (in July 2021 an appellate court affirmed HP’s $4.5 billion judgment). Ms. Olson is a Trustee of The Conference Board and the Committee for Economic Development. She co-chairs CED’s Workplace Committee. Ms. Olson is also on the Board of Directors of America’s Newspapers, Inland Press Foundation, and the Foundation of the University Club of Chicago. She is also a member of the University of Michigan Law School Development & Alumni Relations Committee.
