Hollis W. Hart

Senior Fellow, ESF Center at The Conference Board

Hollis Hart is a Trustee of the Comiittee for Economic Development, the public policy center of The Conference Board, and a Senior Fellow in the Economy, Stategy & Finance Center of The Conference Board. Hollis held senior roles at Citibank over 40 years spanning global business management, governance, strategy and risk.

His last role at Citi was as the President of International Franchise Management (IFM) with responsibility for the country heads who managed Citi’s 100 presence countries. This role included responsibilities for home / host regulators, and the 40+ external country boards. He was also responsible for the governance of the 80 non-presence countries where Citi did business. Hollis served on numerous Citi management committees to include: Citibank’s Risk Committee; Global AML; Audit; Compliance; Legal Entity; Vendor; Sovereign Risk; Cyber oversight; Women4Citi; as well as several legal entity boards such as Citi China. Additional oversight roles included the Global MBA Program; Global Lethal Equipment Policy and Citi memberships in national policy groups such as the Council on Foreign Relations etc.

Previous roles included: Asia M&A Head, Asia Real Estate Head, U.S. Banks Head, Tokyo Corporate Bank Head; Japan Merchant Bank Head; Transactions Services Global Risk Head. Latin America Broker-Dealer Risk Head. Hollis supported the newly created Alternative Assets Group by acting as their first Global Risk Head.

Financial services industry roles included: Chairman of the American Bankers Association’s (ABA) Corporate Banking Committee; Board Member for RMA's Global Advisory Board, Korea Society, and BCIU.

Hollis currently serves on the Boards of the Moa Bay Mining Company; the Cuban American Nickel Co and the consulting firm ReferencePoint. Hollis consults to private sector and public/regulatory groups on global strategy and global risk concerns and best practices in working with FinTechs and RegTechs. He has been an invited speaker at a range of events to include the annual Central Bank Head Policy Conference hosted jointly by the FED; IMF and WorldBank; and the keynote speaker at the OCC's annual NY meeting. Recent articles have appeared in The American Banker, and he is a co-author with Mike Archbold (Trustee) and Joe Minarik of Smart Regulation.
