Jim Slamp

EVP, CFO, & Treasurer at The Conference Board

James Slamp is executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Conference Board. He has overall responsibility for financial management of the business, including statutory compliance in all regions of operations — United States, Belgium and the EU, China, India, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Slamp is also responsible for the management of the information technology, customer service, and facilities organizations at The Conference Board. As treasurer, he oversees the organization’s pension and reserve investment portfolios in partnership with the finance committee. He has also orchestrated the development and implementationof a comprehensive investment strategy for managing a $50 million portfolio.

Slamp began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he spent 13 years providing a broad scope of financial expertise to emerging market companies and larger multinational Fortune 500 companies. In his subsequent roles of corporate controller and chief financial officer, Slamp oversaw various growth-oriented equity-backed companies with a view toward exit through IPO or acquisition. During his career, Slamp has been involved with multiple debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions at all levels, business integrations, balance sheet restructurings, and cost rationalizations. \

Slamp received his BS degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and his CPA in 1977.
