Harish Vishwanath

Harish Vishwanath is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and team management. Currently serving as Director of Engineering for Kafka Core at Confluent since May 2022, Harish oversees over 40 engineers focused on control plane and orchestration for the Cloud Native Kafka service (Kora). Prior to this role, Harish spent nearly a decade at Cisco, progressing from Senior Software Engineer to Director of Software Engineering, where significant contributions included the development of Cisco's internal PaaS (Dragonfly) and the edge processing framework (Cisco IOx). Earlier career stages involved leading software development initiatives at Ingersoll Rand and independent contributions in product development at CSC India Pvt. Ltd. Harish holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science from JSSATE Bangalore.
